OVERVIEW
Remote Data Connectors (RDC) were created by Envisage to allow data to flow easily between websites and record keeping systems located around the country. Since their inception in the late 90’s the RDC family has grown to include remote access to SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Structured Text files, Pervasive file systems, as well as a number of custom service providers. By incorporating the RDC family of products into their operations, Envisage clients such as Invesmart save precious time and dollars over attempting to develop solutions in-house.
The Remote Data Connectors provide a highly scalable industry standard solution to the record keeper’s dilemma of how best to standardize the flow of data into and out of record keeping systems, database systems, and email applications. This RDC technology has proven value in supporting Websites, IVR Systems, Payroll Automation as well as proprietary in-house utilities. The simple to use XML interfaces allow the RDC technology to function as a data provider for projects such as rate of return calculators, super statements, straight through payroll processing, and on-line enrollment.
TECHNOLOGY
The RDCs contain an easy to use XML interface which allows developers to tap into data stored in record keeping systems or other business systems. The RDC’s design assures a simple installation process and minimal load on the host computer. The RDCs utilize the HTTP and HTTPS protocols, which allow the RDCs to be positioned behind firewalls for maximum security with minimal configuration.
